The Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 to 4x SFF-8482 SAS Breakout Cable with Power is designed to connect a Mini SAS HD–enabled RAID controller or motherboard directly to up to four SAS or SATA hard drives.
This internal forward breakout cable uses an SFF-8643 Mini SAS HD connector on the host side and splits into four 29-pin SFF-8482 connectors, each combining SAS/SATA data with integrated power delivery. This eliminates the need for separate power cables and simplifies internal server cabling.
Ideal for servers, RAID systems, and storage enclosures, the high-density SFF-8643 connector allows for higher port density and efficient PCB usage on modern controllers.
Important compatibility note:
This is a forward breakout cable. The SFF-8643 connector must be located on the RAID controller or motherboard. If the SFF-8643 port is on a backplane, this cable will not function.
