This Mini Cool Edge IO (MCIO) 4X 4i to U.2 SFF-8639 cable is a high-performance interconnect solution designed for enterprise storage, server and data centre applications.
The cable enables direct connection between an MCIO 4X 4i interface on the motherboard or controller card and a U.2 NVMe SSD using the SFF-8639 connector. It supports PCI Express signal transmission using a 4-lane PCIe architecture, providing stable, low-latency connectivity for high-speed NVMe storage devices.
Designed to meet modern data centre requirements, the cable supports PCIe Gen 3, Gen 4 and Gen 5 signalling, as well as advanced protocols including SAS 3.0 / 4.0 and high-speed Ethernet environments where applicable. With support for up to 56GT/s PAM4, it delivers excellent signal integrity with minimal attenuation or data loss.
The MCIO interface allows flexible system expansion, enabling efficient cable-to-board and card-to-board connections for storage backplanes, NVMe expansion, and modular server architectures. The assembly is suitable for chip-to-chip, chip-to-module and chip-to-board designs commonly used in modern enterprise hardware.
